I grew up playing and competing in numerous sports. I loved participating in sport so much that I completed a degree in Health and Physical Education Teaching in 2007. Since that time I have completed in six years service in the New South Wales Police Force, and have seen firsthand how important fitness can be. In 2012 I discovered Crossfit and competed in my first Crossfit Open. It changed my whole perception on what fit is. I was hooked! I began attending regular classes and saw the positive changes in my body. In 2014 I completed my level 1 trainer in Crossfit. I have been competing in the sport for three years and am humbled that I get the opportunity to coach Crossfit and share the knowledge in skill and technique that I have gained over the years. What makes this sport so special is the community. The support that members have for one another is the main reason I’m still addicted to the sport four years later and will be for many years to come!

For those of you who don’t know me I’ve been training at Coffs Coast for about 6 months now. I’m one of those noisey clowns who turns up to the 4:30 class almost every arvo. Fitness is a passion of mine and I have been doing personal training for almost 3 years now. Currently working alongside CCCF offering PT outside of class times as an option for those who are looking to do few extras. Functional fitness is something of a speciality for me. Working on mobility and core strength things I also offer. If your looking for any advice or a chat feel free to catch me in the afternoons or let one of the coaches know.
I started my CrossFit journey in 2014, fell in love with it & have been ever since. I’ve grown up playing sports, but the trouble is I use to get bored easy! So finding CrossFit with so much variance was the best thing that ever happened to me. I never really planned on being a coach or owning a CrossFit gym – it just kind of all fell into place thanks to James Sanders, Simon and Fiona McCredie. I would never of thought I would love coaching so much but seeing somone get something for the first time or progress in something is a great feeling as a coach. That’s what keeps me coming back each day! Coaching and being part owner of Coffs Coast CrossFit is a true blessing. And why wouldn’t it be….. I get to coach and train with a bunch of legends every day. I’m excited to be part of such an awesome team & community !
My love for health and fitness has always been around. My passion for growing athletes and communities is my most recent dedication. I tried CrossFit for the first time about 4 years ago. It was all to much and far to overwhelming. I could only handle 1 or 2 classes a week and decided thats what I would do. I moved to a friendly and family orientated BOX not long after that and my passion for the fitness grew, evolving a passion for the competing side of Crossfit. Dedicated to training daily. My passion grew that strong that I want to scream it to the world and share it with as many people that I could. That soon eventuated in to opening my own facility. Whilst competing and training I managed to find enough time to coach classes and broaden my skills as a business owner and Coach. My hunger to learn more and develop as a Crossfit coach only grew stronger and still to this day I notice nothing has changed. My fuel to keep coaching is seeing improvements across a broad range of ages and sizes. There’s simply nothing more rewarding then seeing a new coming member improve his or her movement in the course of just one session then having them leave, feeling happy and much more alive then when they first stepped foot in the door. My initial thoughts were to grow my business into a thriving facility that catered for potential competing athletes and athletes that wanted to excelling in grass sport activities. Funnily enough, nearly two years down the track we have landed in the complete opposite direction. Having the average aged member at 30+ and coaching friends parents, grandparents and aunties and uncles. My passion for developing competing athletes still stands as It will always be a dream of mine to coach someone to their own success.
Growing up in Coffs Harbour Sean has always lived a very active lifestyle-basketball, football, surfing, oz tag and gymnasium. He appreciates however that we are all “athletes” to some degree, whether our goal is achieving sporting excellence, setting to work in our gardens, or to just walk the beach painfree. Too often people live with pain and limitation, seeking and gaining only temporary pain relief when desperate. His goal is to uncover the underlying cause and address this, so you regain long term control and freedom in your life.
In his personal quest to extend himself professionally, he is building up an extensive continuing education portfolio, with a major focus on the shoulder and upper limb. With this knowledge he has assisted many return to full activities stronger than ever following their shoulder surgery. He is experienced in use of Real Time Utrasound Imaging in retraining of shoulders, but also in retraining the deep trunk core muscles- for acute or chronic low back pain or to improve your peak competitive performance. Sean continues to travel internationally to conferences, and for specialist training in Canada on thoracic spine / ribs and lumbo-pelvic pain and dysfunction .
Over the past 7 years Sean has also been expanding his knowledege and skills in the complex area of Hand Therapy, attending many specialist courses and conferences. He is experienced in assessment, diagnosis and management of a wide range of upper limb conditions extending from soft tissue injuries to fractures to post-operative management and rehab. His full membership of the Australian Hand Therapy Association is pending, which honours Coffs Shoulder to Hand Clinic as the only clinic between Newcastle and the Gold Coast with two Full Members of the AHTA.
